3mm Blue LEDs

3mm blue LEDs are compact, throughhole components used as visual indicators in Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other DIY electronics projects. Packaged in a standard 3mm (T1) round form, they fit easily into breadboards and PCBs.

Blue LEDs have a higher forward voltage than red/green (typically 3.03.6V). Always use a currentlimiting resistor (220Ω470Ω) to avoid exceeding the 20mA30mA max current.
The longer lead is the Anode (+), the shorter lead is the Cathode (-).
Do not exceed the maximum forward current of 20mA-30mA to prevent damage.

Troubleshooting
LED not lighting:
- Check polarity: anode (long lead) to positive, cathode (short lead) to ground
- Verify current-limiting resistor is installed
- Ensure voltage supply meets forward voltage requirement
Dim or uneven brightness:
- Confirm correct current limiting resistor value
- Check for loose connections
