TXS0108E 8-Channel Logic Level Converter Module
BiDirectional HighSpeed Full Duplex Shifter for Arduino/Raspberry Pi
The TXS0108E is an 8channel bidirectional logic level converter enabling safe communication between 3.3V and 5V devices. Its high-speed full duplex design makes it ideal for interfacing modern 3.3V sensors, modules, and displays with 5V Arduino boards, or vice versa [citation:1][citation:5][citation:6].
8 BiDirectional Channels Convert up to 8 signals simultaneously without direction control
HighSpeed Operation Supports 110Mbps (pushpull) and 1.2Mbps (opendrain) [citation:2][citation:3]
Connect OE pin to VCCA (low-side voltage) to enable the module [citation:4]
Use this module for SPI, I2C, UART, or GPIO signals between 3.3V and 5V systems [citation:1][citation:8]
VCCA must be less than or equal to VCCB at all times [citation:2]

Connection Guide
Voltage references:
- VCCA: Connect to lowside voltage (1.4V3.6V)
- VCCB: Connect to highside voltage (1.65V5.5V)
- GND: Common ground for both sides
Enable pin:
- OE: Connect to VCCA to enable module [citation:4]
Channel mapping:
- A1A8: Lowvoltage side pins
- B1B8: Highvoltage side pins
- Signals pass bi-directionally between A and B pins
Connect VCCA to 3.3V and VCCB to 5V for typical Arduino applications
Use OE enable for power savings when not in use
VCCA must be less than or equal to VCCB
Add pullup resistors for I2C and opendrain signals
Troubleshooting
No signal passing:
- Verify OE is connected HIGH (to VCCA)
- Check both VCCA and VCCB power supplies
- Avoid loose connections on both sides
Signal degradation:
- Keep wires short for high-speed signals
- Use appropriate pull-up resistors for I2C
- Avoid mixing pin assignments incorrectly
